A few weeks ago, I met a friend at TGI Fridays and saw a wooden sign that I absolutely loved (left). I posted a picture of it on Facebook and stated how much I wanted it for my house. Two days later, I peeked outside and found this sign on my front porch (below), handmade by my friend and awesome upcycler, Denise Postema.
Now I know what you’re thinking: where can I get a sign like that? Well, that’s the best part. Denise has a booth right here in Grandville, Michigan (sorry, all of you out of town folks) at a super cute little shop called Changing Thymes. Denise has tons of treasures that she has handpainted, repainted, and turned from drab to fab with her creativity. She has fun pink dressers for girls, a time out chair that I almost bought for my house, and even some seasonal items for Halloween. My personal favorites are her chandeliers and repurposed decorative doors. Each of her pieces is one-of-a-kind and will have your friends asking where they can get their own.
Denise hand-picks each item and makes it her own with fun colors, fabulous details and a touch of whimsy. She is constantly on the hunt for new things to paint and create. Head on over to Changing Thymes on Chicago Drive in Grandville and ask the wonderful employees there to show you Denise’s booth (located upstairs). Her unique style makes each of her items special and with an ever-evolving inventory, she definitely has something for everyone!
