I’m typically not really a fashionista. (My friends just laughed out loud at that because I’m soverymuch not a fashionista). I don’t go out much and I wear lots of jeans and tee shirts. I’m also usually that person who is reminding others (and myself) that beauty is more than what size you wear, and that being healthy is more important than being thin. And I really, really believe that. I know some thin people who aren’t healthy and some not-thin people who are incredibly healthy. In many cases, size really doesn’t matter. Eating well and exercising are far more important than wrapping a tape measure around your waist or stepping onto a scale. All that being said, I still wear shapewear. Almost every day, actually. There’s just something about it that makes me feel good, feel more confident. I’m convinced that it encourages me to have better posture, which translates into confidence. Dang it! My grandmother was right! Stand tall, ladies! Stand tall! But I digress…
So when I was first introduced to Wink, the first thing I noticed was that they weren’t just about looking good. I love that on their blog they talk about exercise and healthy eating and mental health, among other things. I love companies that can say we want you to look great, feel great, and be healthy all at the same time! That’s really how I try to live and be personally. And although I’m a big advocate for loving who you are, as you are – including all those extra bumps and lumps that tend to show up on post-partum bodies – it doesn’t hurt to have a little help on those days when your insides and your outsides seem to be at war. Does shapewear hide every bump and lump? No. But does it give me that extra little something and make me feel a little better? Yes, indeed! And you can see in the picture below it makes a smoother line and firms up your abdominal area. (Oh my stars…I just put a picture of my tummy on the internet. As Uncle Jesse would say, “Have mercy”!)
Wink’s Tummy Tucker is really the perfect everyday undergarment. It’s structured enough to do it’s thing but not so tight that it keeps you from doing yours! The back is cut so that it doesn’t go much higher than a bra but high enough to um…hold in those little spots behind your arms. (Not that you have those). And then the bottom is what really sold me on the Tummy Tucker. See that band around the bottom? It is strong enough to hold the tank down where it’s supposed to be but not so tight that you feel like it’s squeezing you. Nothing’s worse than wearing shapewear and then having to pull it back down into place when you sit down or stand up.
