would you like s’more? :: a simple round up

When Pinterest was still fairly new I was looking through my boards one day and noticed a trend in my pins. I had a dessert board that was rather full of s’mores recipes. So many s’more recipes, in fact, that I decided to create a board just for s’mores. This may not sound so strange until I confess to you all that I’m not that big a fan of the traditional s’more.

Gasp! But you had a whole board or pins?!? Yep. Which reminded me that while I may not be the biggest fan of traditional gooey messy over the campfire s’mores, I do like the combination of graham, marshmallow, and chocolate. So, in no particular order, here are some of my favorite s’mores inspired recipes.

1) S’mores Krispie Treats :: there are many variations of this particular s’mores recipe, but this one from Cookies & Cups is a personal favorite. It’s basically s’mores sandwiched by rice krispie treats. So delicious I’ve witnessed an entire pan disappear in an hour flat.

2) S’mores Shake :: how do you make s’mores even better? Add ice cream. Just about everything is better with ice cream and this shake recipe from Bombshell Bling looks ah-MAZ-ing. Two words: toasted marshmallows.

3) S’mores Graham Krispie Treats :: because Golden Grahams cereal is not just for breakfast. This breakfast cereal is an obvious and important part of making some of the best treats from my childhood. There’s a lot of variations for this recipe as well but I really like the photos from Country Cleaver as well as her easy to follow instructions.

4) S’mores Bars :: I am so very glad that these bars from Gimme Some Oven were ever created. So simple, but completely brilliant! A graham cracker crust, brownie layer, and topped with marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham squares cereal? Sounds like a s’mores party in your mouth!

5) S’mores Fudge Bars :: give your holiday fudge recipes a run for their money with this fun summer themed version from Handle the Heat. It’s fudge. But s’mores. Mind. Blown.
