Christmas is over. A new year is almost here. People everywhere are making promises to themselves to start fresh come January 1. But resolutions and I don’t mix very well so I don’t bother with them any more. I do, however, love to always start the new year by reminiscing about the last 365 days and contemplating the ones to come. That usually involves me starting a new notebook. I mean…is there any smell better than that of new pens and fresh paper? (Brand-new-baby may be the only smell that beats it, really).
But tell me this: do you ever pull out a brand new notebook and just stare at it? Do the lines look as daunting to you as they do to me sometimes? I always feel like the first page is Of The Utmost Importance and that I must write Very Important Things.ย But I sit down to write the Very Important
Thingsย and all I can think of is my To Do list. But it doesn’t have to be that way. With the Gadanke she. journal, you can find prompts printed on pretty paper to get your started. There’s plenty of space to write or just doodle, if that’s your thing. Add stickers. Whatever. Or what if you find a ticket stub to a movie you want to remember? There’s a little pocket to hold those. Or what about that Very Important Picture that your daughter drew for you? If you want to add it to the journal, just punch a few holes in it, open the clips, and add it right in!
I really enjoy the prompts in this journal. Some make you laugh a little and some really make you think. It gives you chances to look back and look forward. To write down things you’ve done that you’re proud of – which has come in handy a time or two on days when I was feeling less-than-productive and struggling with not feeling like I was doing or being enough. To set goals for yourself. Real, do-able goals and there are even a few encouraging quotes to help you along.
